Pi in the sky

Epoxie performed "Math U Love" as Dr Matthew Love for the great kids at Schreoder Elementary!  It was great fun to share my passion for math, arithmetic, geometry, algebra and even counting with those k through 6th grades!  

Though not in content, at least in inspiration, the shows were informed by the content I have been watching on the TED  conference website!  How inspirational the information about technology is and how it can relate  to the problem of sharing passion about Math to kids.  It is imperative for the children (and me too) to be inspired to study the sciences as fun.  I hope I helped.

Kids Fair OC

The Orange County Kids Faire got a great taste of the Moxie Talks show from the Jumbo Shrimp Circus!  Moxie delighted the audience with wacky interviews, silly  unicycling and just about the most spontaneous kids show ever!  As her performance partner, Epoxie had a great time keeping up with Moxie's whims.  Cowboy Jimmy Graham joined us onstage with rope spinning and banjo music.  We gave away lot's of prizes (t shirts, temporary tattoos and copies of our book, "Moxie's First Wheel.")  

We shared a family fun stage with several great performers Andy Z and Mad Science as well as local dance, martial arts and singing schools.  

The Moxie Show debut!

We had a wonderful performance of our new theatre show, The Moxie Show.

With a talk show format complete with (one-man) band, Foxie (played by Tim Simpson) interviews with special guests (in this case the very talented and terrific Peter Alsop, www.peteralsop.com) we thrilled the audience with Moxie's wit and wonderfulness.

Getting ready for the Will Geer!

We are getting ready for our only September Public show on Sept 14 at the Will Geer Theatricum Boanicum!

The Jumbo Shrimp Circus will again play on the boards of the
Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga!
On Sunday Sept 14th at 11 AM will perform at the beautiful Theatricum Mainstage as part of summer fundays at the Theatricum!
This is absolutely one of our favorite settings for a show, a cool forest canyon on a hot late summer morning.
Moxie will be in full clown talk-show Diva mode and we'll be looking for talented audience members to grace the stage with us.
Our dear friend Tim Simpson (Foxie) will be the house band (playing a washboard, bicycle pump and other household items) for
Moxie's Diva Show.

We did it!

They said it couldn't be done!  Heck, we thought it couldn't be done.  But we did it.  The Jumbo Shrimp Circus performed last Friday for a group of late teens and early twenty-somethings!  It was a very different and improvisational show.  Moxie danced and laughed with some in our audience, Epoxie enlisted the help of a very tall "Mr M' to spin all ten of his plates.  In the end we had a great time, and so did our audience.
